returns, the cold front that brought us very heavy rainfall has pushed to the south of the bay area heading towards the central valley as well as southern california, still picking up some areas of rain near morgan hill, gilroy, you can see the intensity has started to lessen. a green on the map, more like blue we're looking for some light rain showers moving through that particular area. you can see near santa theresa boulevard hit and miss activity. it was crazy earlier today. look at the rainfall, four inches in some parts. mount st. helena, two inches. inch and a half in half moon bay and close to an inch for san jose. is this it? is there any more out there? we'll take a look at seven-day forecast coming up. >> ama: one of the biggest trouble spots is where parts of the creek is threatening to overflow the banks, it runs through east palo alto and menlo park and palo alto. they have been calling them warning of potential flooding in the area. at least several hundred people of east palo alto along university avenue have lost their homes. police officers are driving along neighb

do have a couple weak weather systems that will travel down the shoreline and want to give us a few showers but it doesn't look likely at this point. right now, high temperatures that were pretty chilly and 57 in oakland with the warm spot and mid 50s in san rafael. 52 in santa cruz. upper 30s, 37 in napa and 39 in fairfield and 40 in mountain view. numbers will slowly drop. skies will continue to clear and we'll get some of that patchy frost in north and east bay valleys with numbers already as much as eight degrees cooler than last night at this time. definitely a chillier evening. this is going to be the way it will play out the next several nights. skies will remain clear and weak weather systems give us a reinforcing shot of colder air. patchy frost for the morning. sunny for sunday with a chance of showers around the monterey bay, then by monday, partly cloudy skies in the morning. by late in the day, looks like showers once again want to skirt the shoreline. just a slight chance in the forecast. overnight lows, when you wake up tomorrow morning, upper 20s in cloverdale. 29 in

reporter jon is there live for us tonight to walk us through exactly what happened there this evening. john? >>reporter: well first off everything is back to normal. the all clear was given at about 7:45 tonight. nearly 4 hours after this situation started. now just after 4:00 o'clock the san jose college dispatch got a call from someone saying they were approached by another person who had a gun. man described as wearing a white t-shirt. after that police descended on the tech center where classes and final exams were taking place. students alerted by text. some students also texted themselves from the student center and financial aid center and as precaution places swarmed that location. san jose police 911 also got a call. as a result heavily armed officers went through all 5 stories of the tech center where some journalism students were finishing their final exam. >> basically they came enthusiastic a side door the adjoining classroom and ordered us hands up. drop the camera. drop whatever you are doing. and at which point they told us what they were going to do. they were going t

on us not a big soaker but it is cold and it will bring some rain. here's weather anchor spencer christian with live doppler 7 hd. >> okay dan we have some wet weather. finally moving natural bay area down from the north throughout the evening and now you can see clearly on live doppler 7 hd a path of rainfall. in the north bay mainly getting reports of light rain in santa rosa but obviously in the last few minutes or so the area of more concentrated rain developed down in marin county novato to fairfax and out to sea golden gate patch at vallejo and solana county and more moisture offshore so it's getting organized now. and wetter weather on its way. start our forecast animation 11:00 o'clock tonight at which point we'll see more wide spread and more concentrated rainfall as the front sweeps through during the overnight hours rainfall reaching into the south bay and east bay. by 5:00 o'clock tomorrow morning beginning rush hour we see trailing showers behind the front. not so much wide spread rainfall but some wet spots nonetheless with morning commute so keep that in mine. furt
